Eighty Four Point Seven Five

Today was my official wrap up for my first month of cardio as well as double days in the gym. I must say, I've been workin' my tail off. For the whole month, I've only missed one day of the gym (aside from my usual Sundays off), but I had a very legit reason for not going. My sinus infection literally drained all the energy I had to the point where I barely managed to go to work on Thursday. Despite missing a day, I managed to chaulk up 24 miles this week on the Elliptical. Woot woot!  I totaled up all of my stats from this month and it added up to 84.75 miles! Hell yea!

My clothes are starting to fit better, I FEEL better.. sure, it's alot of hard work, but atleast it's starting to pay off. As of now, I've lost 8lbs since the 4th of the month. Somethings better than nothing, right?

My cardio stats for the week are:

Distance: 24.75 mile
Time: 6.10 hours
Calories Burned: 3606

Cardio stats for the MONTH:

Distance: 84.75 Miles
Time: 21.25 hours
Calories Burned: 12,363

*snort*

The picture above kinda illustrates how I feel right now. Given, I'm not on a sandy beach somewhere & soaking up some much needed sunlight...but more or less: I'm exausted, wanting to sleep alot and my face feels all smushed up like a Pug. I'm pretty positive that I have a sinus infection since I have all the tell-tale signs....and it super sucks.

whew

The last 24 hours have kinda been a blur for me...nothing too exciting happened, but I've just been attending to other things and by the time I'm ready to sit down and type.. it's time for bed, lol.

Remember my vent about UMUC? It's all fixed (thankfully). After a week and a half of trying to contact someone in accounting, the UMUC rep on base was finally able to get ahold of someone to address my account. At first, he told me that "yes", I had to pay the $1,200 outstanding bill. The thought of it made me very nauseated considering I had a SCHOLARSHIP that was supposed to pay for the classes, yet, it didn't. I gave in and said I'd go ahead and pay it, but I needed to know if the school added an interest rate when it comes making payments. He didn't know, so he had to call them back to get a definite answer.....when he called me to gimme the answer, he said "Well, I have good news. All you owe is $3.50". I thought he was screwing with me, but no, he was serious. I don't know what he said or what he did, but the MyCAA scholarship was finally applied. After all was said and done... the notices saying that I owe a large bill.. stressing me out... then letters threatening to take me to collections... after all of that,  the scholarship amount was FINALLY applied. Almost 6 months later. So, I logged into my UMUC account and there it was... a bill for $3.50.

Yes, I paid it.

In other news, my Dad started shipping things to me for his vacation. The first package arrived today..and...well..it looks like a smurf blew snot all in it before sealing it up for shipment. When I picked up the package from our Post Office on base, the gal working behind the counter said "Uhhh...the package was leaking. Bad. I think it's AXE body wash". Oh lovely, lol. I get it home and open it up. This OVERWHELMING smell of Old Spice punched me in the face, lol. GREAAAAT..... I'm picking things out and a Costco size bottle of the stuff was all over EVERYTHING. He packed nice shirts, hiking boots, medical things he'll need for his foot (he has to switch out bandages and such) as well as his slippers. Man oh man...I'm able to salvage some of the stuff, but I'm hoping his nice nice dress shirts aren't ruined. Luckily, alot of the other stuff that got jacked (mainly the body wash and the deoderant) are available at our Commissary.  My only gripe is that my house smells like Old Spice all over the place.. the smell won't come off of me!! AGH!

On that note, I gotta get to bed... I have to be up in..hmmm...7ish hours.

Fuuuuuuuuuuuuun!

Tonight was "Mad Hatter Bowling" for Mrs. Josie's 30th bday! She informed us back in December that she was planning on having a party later in January. Given, her birthday was actually Jan 2nd, but she moved it to today since she was wanting to wait till everyone was back in the country so they could attend (lots of people went to the States on leave).  So, it was nice that she gave all of us a heads up so we could figure out what kinda crazy hat we wanted to wear. I know I posted a while back some pics of the hats we were gonna wear, but as a reminder...Eric and I were gonna rock some Mario & Luigi hats :)

We went to the bowling alley in Lommel which is about 25 minutes from us...so not to bad of a drive. When we got there, people were staring at us like we were mental cases. Sure, they probably thought we were crazy, but you gotta admit.. Mario and Luigi hats are pretty pimp.

Here's some pic's from tonight:

Josie & her birthday chocolate weiner

Andy & his "Stair Diver" helmet...the story he told me about it was rather interesting..lol

From left to right : Tina, Raven, Josie, myself, Melissa, and Crissy holding Lily. I absolutely LOVE Josies face, lol

Mario & Luigi!

LOL....Josie was talking about how short she is and that she's almost eye level with my boobas.. so I figured I'd just help her along and place 'em on her shoulder :D

Cheeeese!

Rudy "The Mexican" eating spaghetti...the clash of two cultures

Myself & Melissa

In other news, Eric and I hit the gym earlier this morning and I managed to squeeze out 2.5 miles in 33:03 minutes and burned 362 calories.

My  cardio stats for the week are:

Distance: 22 miles
Time: 5.5 hours
Calories Burned: 3241

Goodness....

8/18/06 - Friday

Amie, Mark & I were thoroughly entertained right from the get go. We check in & have our stuff searched... I ended up being fondled by some stalky chick security gaurd because apparently my ticket "said" I was required to be searched. Basically, I got felt up & didn't get paid for it...all the while, Mark & Amie giggled their asses off. Boarded the plane & the bridal party from hell sat right infront of us (imagine fran drescher wearing white minnie mouse ears and a veil). The damn laugh was like nails on a chaulk board...not to mention every 5 minutes we'd hear "HAPPY VEGAS!! HAPPY VEEEEEEEGAS!!". By the end of the 50 minute flight, Viking (Amie) and myself were trying to restrain ourselfs from bitch slapping the bridal group. Oh, lets not forget that our pilot ended up doing donuts on the tarmack when we finally landed... good shit.

Finally pile off the plane & bum rushed baggage claim, got the rental car & hauled ass to our hotel. When checking in, I could've sworn the hotel clerk hated the world...or just me in general. I couldn't tell, but he had the biggest chip on his shoulder...I probably would too if I constantly had drunks talking to me & blowing cigg smoke in my face. *sigh* We headed up to the room & our room keys almost never worked...basically we stood there for 5 minutes at a time just inserting it to see if it'd take it. BLAH. Dropped our gear off & hit up food around midnight (I love how Mark (27) got carded and Amie (20) didn't).. Let the games begin.
I was officially schmeesed after 2 beers...thank god for being a cheap drunk. Amie & Mark figured that wasn't enough, so we hit the strip & ended up getting more booze. I don't remember half the shit I did, but all I remember is referring to dice as "Dice balls" & I randomly bought 2 bottles of champagne. Oh yea.. Amie & I made the perverts happy by collecting the raunchy girl cards (you all know which ones i'm talking about), they make excellent souvinere presents...Might I add, everyone on the receiving end is very happy. Sean attempted to drunk dial me & I barely remember that conversation.. all I remember is him saying bad things & me laughing my ass off. Please note the main pic on my profile now... I was drunk & on the phone with Mr. Sean all the while, Mark & Amie were co-herient enough to notice I was leaning near a sign that I obviously didn't see. Go me.
I'm schmeesed... Viking was there after a long neck margarita...Squishy (Mark) was right behind me considering he's a lil' undercover lush. We're stumbling along the strip & we hear this god aweful array of singing....it's kareoke. It gets better.... it's guys singing Backstreet Boys "I want it that way"...all while dressed up as super heros. Batman, Robin, Mr. Incredible & even Capt. Jack Sparrow thought they were the next American Idol. Needless to say, we took their picture & scampered off while laughing hysterically (pictures coming soon). Overall, I drunk dialed Sean a few times verses his few... ended up crashing out at ...hmmm...3:30am? I think, I dont know. Either way, I went to sleep before Amie & Mark because I'm a light weight...They ended up coming home about an hour after me. I guess they were having issues with the stupid room key like I did (I spent over 20 minutes screwing around with that damn thing while considerably drunk)since Amie was awesome enough to just keep calling me on my cell for me to open the door rather than struggle with it like I did. Bastard!
8/19/06 -Saturday

When I woke up, I felt like I ate an ashtray of cigg butts. Nasty nasty nasty....not to mention I was hung over. To cure this crappy sensation... I helped myself to a tall boy of Mimosa. I'm not an alcoholic... I don't attend meetings. We proceeded to the buffet then headed off to the Palms casino since I wanted to check out Hart & Huntington Tattoo. When we parked & got all situated...Amie noticed a construction truck next to us & someone happened to have left their bump cap just sitting in the truck bed. Needless to say, we aquired a bump cap. As for Hart & Huntington, I was rather disappointed with that shop...stood in line for 30 minutes for just a silly t-shirt. Balls!
From there, we scampered on over to the Hooters Hotel, which was another slight disappointment to me. To no surprise, it was full of gross old men who could be my grandfather (my grandpa has class though) and were oogleing over titties and beer. I ended up leaving with a Hooters shirt, shot glass & 2 mugs. Went back over to the strip, grabbed some grub, hit up M&M World & headed back to the hotel to rest up. Snoozed while Amie went ninja status & took a picture of my ass while I was sleeping since she's a pervert. Six o'clock rolled around & out the door we went since it was time for NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICKELBACK at Mandalay Bay. Parking was easy..hiked to the Event Center & stood in the General Section. I gotta say...people are idiots. Well, drunken people that is. Some douche bag attempted to start a fight just so he could move up maybe a few inches...to his enjoyment, people pushed back & security got involved. Lovely! To our surprise, we came to find out that there were 4 bands playing rather than 3....so we saw Hinder, Chevelle, Hoobastank & Nickelback. The show rocked & I was officially deaf by the time it was all finished. Sean has a statement that completely stuck in my mind once everyone was leaving the concert "I'm a shepard in a flock of retarded sheep". That's EXACTLY how it felt while watching everyone stampede downthe hallways and into the main casino...it was entertaining to say the very least. Once we escaped back to our Hotel, round 2 started for drunken escapades. While on the strip, we got lost since we were completely hammered from some drink we were nursing on from Fat Tuesdays...ran around New York New York, MGM...shit..I can't remember what else we did. Amie & I ended up crashing out while Mark continued on without us...he ended up coming back around 5am & totally wasted. All in all, it was too fun.
8/20/06- Sunday

Woke up to Seans text informing me how hungover he was...he decided since he was off this weekend that he was going to get schmeesed as well. Atleast I have Vegas to blame my drunken sillyness on...he's Irish & an '08er...'nuff said *wink*. The three of us get our shit together, made like a baby and head out. Went over to Treasure Island for pirate booty then went on over to Harley Davidson where Amie got a very large and prominate boner. In the process of finding Harley, we stopped off at El Polo Loco & proceeded to be amused by a crack junky who decided to show his happy trail to Amie...which caused her boner to simmer down. Good Amie. I love the fact that when you reach the double doors for Harley, the sign on the door states,"Please, No Firearms". Classic I tells ya! Did some damage there & then proceeded back to the airport since it was time to vacate back to our lovely state of California.
I was molested by a gaurd in Santa Maria...Mark was molested by a guy who looked like he belonged in Thunder Down Under. Mark loved it. His magical junk set off the security alarm so he was forced to get searched & felt up. I honest to god wished that I recorded them searching him since they were giving him the ol' 1-2. You know they both had a good time considering they parted ways with big smirks. bwahahaaa.... Amie was the only one frisk -free...that'll eventually change since $50 and a tweaker in Oceano will make things right. The flight home smelled like stale french fries.... not to mention our pilot on the way home decided to bounce our plane like it was a super ball when it came time to land. I think that's pretty normal considering he might've had 1 or 2 Jack & Cokes while flying. Hmmmm..

All in all, I had a blast. Mark has whip lash from all the fake titties while Amie & I have whip lash from all the FUPA's *shudder*. Amie remained midget-less even though I took a drunk-by picture of one while I was stumbling through a casino ( for the life of me, I can't remember which casino). Many fond memories...great black-mail pictures... Viva Las Vegas!

July 24, 2006

Apparently my family has come to the conclusion that I'm Goth. Why? Because I went to my Grammys house wearing a head band that had skulls on, Fender zip-up hoody & black capris pants. Keep in mind, the second I colored my hair black..they thought I hit some sort of depression & wanted attention. WTF? Just because my hair is black, doesnt mean I'm a Goth...or Emo. I think all of you know I have a wide variety of style when it comes to how I dress... I go from casual, to super girly, rocker.. punk.. you name it. I wear what I like, big deal.

I guess the world will be normal again if I had blonde hair & had a ruffle apron on. I'm starting to think my family doesn't care for my life style at all...more or less, I'm thinking they liked it better when I was extremely overweight & miserable. Now that I'm smaller & happy...able to fit into clothes I like & want to venture out and do more things with my life, they seem to object to anything & everything I chose to do. *SIGH*

It's a wonder why I don't really feel like sharing my experiences with my family.

I love the fact that whenever I go to my Grammys house, IF I'm wearing something that can be viewed as Gothic, I have to change into something more appropriate before I visit her. You'd think she would be happy to just see me...but I guess my clothes are more important.

I'm glad my family accepts me for me. *tisk*

March 15, 2006 - Wednesday

So yesterday was my day off...and it was desperately needed. I've been working non-stop since God knows when and I've literally have run myself down. I was sitting here and randomly came to the decision that I'm going to Salinas & Monterey. I emailed my momma givin' her a heads up and off I went.

I love how my mom is... when I come into her office, she gets SUPER perky and friendly...parades me around the office because of my weight loss, then for the next hour I answer everyone's questions about Gastric Bypass. Normally, I don't mind talking about it...but I was goddamn tired and just wanted to talk to my mom. Afterwards, we headed to Monterey since I NEEDED new clothes. I was used to wearing size 26 tops...now I'm fitting comfortably into 14's. My mom being totally awesome bought me some new tank tops...which I normally wouldn't wear because of my arms...I totally rock now. Now if the weather would pull it's head out of it's ass...it'd be all good in the hood.
Went over to Macy's and saw Rose and Merl...who ended up screaming when they saw me. Kinda scared the hell out of me because they came up from behind me and did it...
Here's the odd thing about losing all this weight....I don't PHYSICALLY see a difference in myself..I only feel a difference with my clothes & the fact that they're getting too big for me. So when someone screams " OH MY GOD, LOOK AT YOU!!!"... I honestly think they're crazy. I know they're complimenting me and such, but it's just not registering in my head as a compliment, sounds weird....but it's me.
Ok...so my dad is having surgery on April 3rd...and I'm not looking forward to it. Why's that you ask? It's because he's having some bones removed from his foot since there's an infection in several of them. The thing that makes is worse is that he's diabetic...so if something happens to go wrong in surgery and the infection gets worse, there's a possibility he could have his foot amputated. It's just a lot of stress to have something like that happen to him..... I hope he'll turn out ok. Actually, I know he will...he's my dad!

Old School

Before Facebook, I was pretty active on Myspace. Now a days, I barely check my MySpace once a week..and that's only if I really have to use ir for verification purposes (for the support board that I own).  Anyway, I used to blog on there alot and I started reading alot of my old posts. Some of my posts go back to 2005!  Man oh man..  So I was thinking that maybe it would be a good thing (in a sense) that I start transferring some of those posts over to here considering I don't really want to "lose" them to MySpace limbo. Some of the posts are funny, sad, hostile..but it's all stuff that I've experienced. There's some things I completely forgot about until I re-read them, lol.

I guess I'll just periodically past them from time to time on here till they're all transferred over :)

Honig

I'm gonna make this fast since I have a rather nauseating migraine....

Eric and I had an awesome date day :) Got to spend some much needed time together since for the past month, our schedules have been rather hectic and it's been pretty sucky to try to do "something" together. So, the fact that we got some "US" time was definitely appreciated.

Also, if you happen to have this in your grocery store:

I highly reccomend that you get it. It's basically...Jesus in a yogurt cup. This is the best yogurt, by far, that I've ever ever had. In fact, we specifically drove to the Commissary today JUST so I could get more of this. Yeah. It's that good. Trust me.

Elliptical - 2 miles in 25:25 minutes and burned 266 calories
Ab machine - 25x 5 , 50lb
Hip abductor (in) - 25x5, 50 lbs
Hip abductor (out) - 25x5, 50lbs
Pull over - 25x4, 45 lbs
Lat zug - 25x2, 21kg
Elliptical - 1 mile in 13:05 minutes and burned 144 calories

I weighed in today and I lost another 1.5lbs ...so from what Eric says, I've now lost 6 pounds total. Not too shabby since the 4th of this month...right?

On that note, I'm gonna hit the hay. I wasn't able to make it to the gym for round two considering it wouldn't be too bright to spike my heart rate with a nasty migraine. Not to mention, I dont really feel like getting all nauseated on the elliptical..I'm sure Shaun (the guy who works in the gym( wouldn't appreciate that too much. Oh well, I'll be there first thing tomorrow morning for some cardio time then chilling in the sauna for a wee bit.

* Side note: My dachshund, Cole aka Bubby, is not the sharpest tool in the shed. Eric was eating some Tootsie Rolls and was wadding up the wrappers in a tiny ball. Well, he tossed one at Cole to fake him out....sadly, Cole isn't very bright and he lets his stomach do all the thinking. Yes, he ate the wrapper. Not only did he eat that one, he ate another one that Eric tossed down. TOTALLY not helping when I say "Cole isn't stupid" whenever Eric calls him a dummy. Then Eric took a wrapper that wasnt wadded up and put it infront of Cali (our boxers) face. Cole being the greedy lil ankle biter that he is, leapt into the air like a graceful orca, intercepted the wrapper and consumed it. *Sigh* ....not the brightest Bubby on the block.

Dumbasses.

I think my son saw his life flash before his eyes....

Lemme explain...

This morning, I woke up at 5am on the dot, went about my usual routine and got John up at 6am since Eric needed to sleep in. How often do I say that my husband "NEEDED" to sleep in? Yeah.. it's usually a "want", not a "need". Anyway.. Woke John up and he stumbled around for a wee bit then I headed off to the gym. I got back around 8ish and Eric was still sleeping, but he managed to wake himself up enough to mumble something about a field trip. Say what? A field trip? Apparently John was given a permission slip on Monday...LAST WEEK.. regarding a field trip that his class was gonna go on. When was the trip supposed to be? Oh. Today. Hum.  Kinda funny how he didn't mention it to neither one of us for the last week and a half..

So, John pretty much waited till the last minute (literally) to show Eric the permission slip...in the dark...with his school taxi waiting for him out front. Genius, right? By the way... Johns school is an hour away and in another country..the permission slip stated that once the kids are back from the field trip, their parent has to pick them up at 5:30pm. Eric managed to atleast tell John "You're not allowed to go on the trip because you waited till the last minute. If you gave us this last week, we could've arrainged a ride for you.".  Although, he wrote a note on the back of the slip saying that if John can't stay behind with a class for kids that werent allowed to attend the trip..just call him and he'll come and pick John up. Eric never got a phone call, so he assumed that John was ok and had class.

Fast forward to me getting off at work. I got off at 6:15pm and I had texted Eric earlier in the afternoon asking him if John had made it home yet. I didn't get any sort of text back letting me know what was going on.. so I was pretty much in "knowledge limbo" cause I didn't know what was going on. I tried  calling the house... no answer...hmmmmm... I went ahead and hit the treadmill for a mile just for the sake of knocking it out so I can head on home. Once I was done with my mile, I called the house again. Still no answer....not good. I called Eric's cell and no answer there..great.... tried the house again and let it ring and ring..no answer. FRICK. FRICK FRICK FRICK FRICK FRICK! At this point, my husband isnt answering his cell phone, the work phone number I have for him isnt working.. and my kid isn't answering the home phone, which means he isnt' home. I hop in my truck and head to the house... I gotta say, I must've made record time. On the way home, I dialed the house line again..put the cell on speaker phone and let it ring JUST INCASE John happened to be outside with the dogs. No answer. UGH! I hang up once I'm within 5 minutes from the house... I drive down my street and I can see his bedroom window from the road..the light isn't on which makes me think "Fuck, he's really not home."..I pull into the driveway and drive past the living room window. BAM. There's John. I went from relieved to enraged.

Once I get into the house, I ask him how long he's been home...."Oh, I've been home for 2 hours now." ...he didn't answer the phone cause he had his music blaring in his room while he was playing his Xbox 360. My blood pressure spiked even more. He blew it off like it was no big deal...blah blah blah... and that's when all I heard was white noise and I exploded.

His lack of being considerate and responsible about his field trip wasn't just an "Oh, my bad" type of thing.. it's like tossing a little pebble in pond..there's ripple effects. He ended up going on the field trip even though he didn't have a way to get home. I've given him my cell phone number on multiple occassions, but he's lost it every single time. So, what would he have done if he didnt "just so happen" to catch a ride home with a friend? He would've been at the school...sitting and waiting. The school has our home number, but now I need to update them with my office number as well as our cell phones JUST IN CASE. Then he tells me that someone from the school would've gotten ahold of me somehow... right..but consider this:  That staff member has already had a full day...but now they're having to babysit a student pretty much till their parent arrives since the child is on school property. So, this persons day is getting held up even longer due to poor planning on someone elses part.

Truth be told, I pretty much exploded since John was so "la dee da" about the whole thing... once I explained the WHOLE picture and all the things that're involved: me taking off from work early to get him if he had planned it out right verses me dropping everything I'm doing at 7pm to drive an hour one way to get him.. I wouldn't be angry like this. Then he tells me that Eric called him earlier in the afternoon from work when he had just gotten home from school...so that's nice to know that Eric was AWARE of John making it home safe and didn't say shit to me to lemme know. Thanks babe...greatly appreciated....

I think John has figured out now that if he pulls this again, he's not going on the field trip..even if it's a graded assignment. His emergency doesnt mean it's mine or Eric's emergency...plan things better, don't procrastinate and be considerate! Ugh!

K, Thanks..

Ok....If I haven't mentioned it before, we're stationed in Belgium...and the Air Force shares an Air Base with the Belgian Air Force.

I workout 6 days a week, twice a day. I don't feel like I'm killing myself because I make it a point to make sure I consume enough protein to keep me going. Fuels the fire, so to speak. Plus I have snacks throughout the day to make sure I'll have more enery to burn since I'm focusing on alot of cardio.

Well, every single morning I'm in the gym..about 30 minutes after I get there, there's this Belgian who comes in. Given, the guy is in great shape and you can tell he watches everything he eats...he's sculpted. Good for him. I'll bop around on the Elliptical, then do my circuit training, then back onto the elliptical till I'm good for the morning. Eric happened to come with me to the gym yesterday since he had the day off. This was the first time he's been able to workout with me since we've been here since he normally works out on the Belgians side of base or he does PT (physical training) before I'm off of work.

So..this morning.. I did my usual cardio and weights, then again on the elliptical. This particular Belgian was in there and doing his usual weights. By the time I was finished with my workout, he had finished...hmmm..a good ten minutes before me but was lingering. When he saw me get off of the elliptical, he came over and started talking to me. I had my music blasting from my iPod so I had to take my earplugs out to hear what he was saying..no one really talks in a gym cause you're in "the zone", ya know? Anyway, first thing he says is "How is it that someone of your size is able to workout for so long on a cardio machine?" ....uhhhh....excuse me? I think the look on my face told him he said something stupid cause you can tell he was trying to figure out something to say to not make the big american gal even more angry. I said "I do just fine on the machine since I pace myself". He kept asking different things in terms of what I do, how often I workout and such.. when I mentioned that I workout twice a day, he chimed in that most Americans will give up when something becomes too hard for them. Gee, thanks.. I'm obviously putting in the effort and I'm trying to better myself. Thanks Mr. Belgie. I mean, I could tell he was trying to figure out the right words to say cause his English was pretty good..it was just the sentence building and putting the RIGHT words in there to not be insulting. I asked what his name was and he looked a lil...uhh...scared to tell me? LOL.. the Belgians have been doing some stupid crap in our Gym lately, so he probably thought I was gonna tattle on him or something cause of the unintentional insult. I dunno. Of all names, his name is Erick.lol .. When I said "Oh! My husbands name is Eric as well." ... he replied with "Oh, that's the man that was with you yesterday? He's uhhh"...then he was motioning that Eric is tall and had big shoulders, lmao. Yes yes..that'd be my husband. He said "You two are very different, yes?" ....sigh..... Yes, opposites attract...but hopefully, you're not insinuating that he's a tall guy that's inshape who is married to a lil butterball.

He managed to say "I think you're doing a good job since you are in here before me and leave after me. I don't see too many people like that in here"....thanks. I guess..lol

Ahhhh

I'm getting sick :( It's totally Eric's fault, too!! UGHH!!!!!

On an up note.. just talked to my Dad for a lil bit and it looks like he's already sending over his goodies and such for his adventure to Belgium. I'm excited! It's already half way through January so that means another 2.5 months till he's here :D YAY YAY YAY!!

....annnnnnnnnnnd on that note, here's my workout stats. I'm tired and about to hit the hay..woot!

Sunday, January 17, 2010

My bad.. I didn't blog yesterday. Truth be told, I had a pretty hectic day..so by the time I got home, I really didn't have the energy to hit the keys on the laptop. Not to mention, I couldn't really focus on a single thought process.

Yesterday - Did a Pampered Chef cooking Show..went over really well :) Luckily it's a easy recipe, not to mention, delicious! I did the "Three Cheese Garden Pizza", which is nice on the calories as well since the majority of the gals that attended were on diets (including myself). Once the Show was over, I made my way back home and picked up my husband since we had a "date with the gym. We both put some mileage on the treadmill as well as ellipticals, so that was nice considering I wasnt able to hit the gym in the morning (woke up late). After that was all said and done, we "chilled" out in the sauna for a bit since I needed to get some lactic acid out of my legs. By the time we were showered up and got home, I was ready to crawl into bed and float off to dream land, lol.

Today - Eric and I went over to Schinnen to get our groceries considering it's "that time of the month" ...we're running low yet again on food (go figure, right?) and I needed to pick up more fruits & veggies.  I've been paying alot more attention to what we're spending our money on considering I don't want a ton of junk food in the house. I'll tell you what... it's not a very "rewarding" feeling when your bill comes out to $298 yet your cart really doesnt reflect that amount, lol. Eating healthy SO isn't cheap. GEEEZ...oh well... it's all about the effort, right? Just say "yes".

I managed to pick up some weight gloves considering I'm starting to get callouses on my hands. Not sexy in the slightest, so I figured it'd be be wise to finally get some. Totally worth $6 since now I don't have to worry about my paws getting all dried out and ugly from my circuit training. I ran upstairs in the BX to take a look at their fitness shoes since the ones I currently have are on their last leg (no cushion left & the arch support is dying).. they've lived a long life but it's time to retire them. SO, I look at the selection that they have to offer..which isn't very many. I think there was a total of 5 different running shoes to choose from...that's it. One of the shoes happen to be by Under Armor, who I totally adore. I own alot of their merchandise, especially socks (they don't retain moisture at all!).  They had a pair in size 9, but they fit rather snug, and sadly...they didn't have any size 10's in stock :(  Once we got home, I hopped online and checked out their website...AH HA! They have the exact pair! YIPPY! AND, in my size! DOUBLE YIPPY! Not only that, but I ended up getting them cheaper than what the BX was wanting..how cool is that? Being the awesome husband that Eric is, he bought the shoes for me as an early Valentines gift considering he knows I really need 'em. Sure, I'd love jewelry and such, but honestly.. my arch support is more important right now :)

Here's my total stats for week 2 in the gym... I'll just post the cardio amount considering my weight lifting is changing alot:

Distance: 21 miles!!

Time: 4.5 hours
Calories Burned: 2,801

I'm starting to jog a lil bit on the treadmill since I wanna start training for a potential marathon. Barb asked me the other day if I'd be interesting in participating in it since the guys will be doing it in..hmmm..April? I think? I know it's around that time, just not sure on the exact date. Last year the guys had to wear hot pink shirts for the event, lol. I happened to be running errands that day when the roads were blocked temporarily for the guys to run through..pretty much, it looked like a stampede of energizer bunnies, lol. I'm pretty sure the shirts won't be hot pink this year...I'm the only one that'll wear the shirt since Eric thinks it was absolutely retarded for Air Force guys to wear, of all colors, hot pink. LOL

Whack-A-Week

This week needs to be placed on a "Whack-A-Mole" kinda game..I just wanna hammer the shit out of "it" so it's all out of my system. I think I've had enough bullshit piled on me in the last two...almost three days that I've reached my maximum limit. I paid the Telenet bill...looks like I'm stuck with a lovely $1,226 bill from UMUC due to the awesome UMUC representative giving me incorrect information (thumbs up) and....you've heard the phrase," No good deed goes unpunished"? Yup, go me! I helped out with a Scentsy order that I placed with my coworkers....since Scentsy doesnt send to APO's, I used my ship-it-apo account...I happened to get a confirmation from Ship-It-APO today to lemme know that the Scentsy stuff showed up and they forwarded it to me......for $35 per box. How many boxes, mind you? A lovely $105 worth of shipping charges. Yup...Yup......yup.... I give up. I freaking give up. I have a Pampered Chef show I'm doing tomorrow...I'm bracing for the worst to happen (just in case) so I won't be TOO shocked if things go to hell in a blaze of glory.

GOOD NEWS: I lost another 3 pounds. So, I've lost 6 pounds since the 4th of the month..not bad!

After everything that went on today.. it pretty much drained me mentally and even physically. Even my handy dandy multi-vitamins didn't counteract the bombardment of total crap... ughh... by the time I finally got out of work, it was 7ish in the evening, things were starting to get a lil fuzzy due to lack of food.  I REALLY wanted to go to the gym..but I knew I'd probably fall off of the elliptical since I'm rather "out of it". I'll just have to make it up tomorrow morning....

Today's Workout:
Elliptical - 1.5 miles, 18: 34 minutes and burned 205 calories

Ab machine - 25x 4, 50lb
Hip abductor (in) - 25x5, 40 lbs
Hip abductor (out) - 25x5, 40lbs
Pull over - 25x3, 45 lbs
Elliptical - 1 mile, 13: 24 minutes and burned 147 calories

Retail Therapy

This week has frustrated the crap out of me...thank god tomorrow's Friday. I'm still bitter that we're pretty much having to part with $800 due to a company lacking in customer service skills, not to mention pay whatever other bills we're responsible for. Now I got an email from UMUC about my "balance"? I SHOULDNT have a balance since my scholarship was supposed to cover it... I had already talked to my UMUC representative about all this and he said he'd take care of it. Apparently, it wasn't taken care of. I'm rather annoyed. I'm going to be effin PISSED if I gotta pay $1,400 even though I was told that my scholarship was covering my tuition and classes!! AGH.

I did a lil bit of retail therapy for myself considering, hell, I kinda need it right now. I deserve some self gratification since it seems like I'm throwing money to everyone else. Ha. So, I went into nike.com and checked out some of their gym bags...I just got one in not too long ago from Old Navy. I will say, it was a good deal, but it's not really meant to hold too much stuff in it. I normally head home and take a shower after my evening workout so I don't stink up my truck / house, but I'm reconsidering and wanting to shower at the gym..mainly to cut down on the use of water in our house and to dwindle down our water bill. Might as well use the military installments shower, right? :) So, here's the new gym bag I picked up..not bad for $35.00

As I was plugging around, my feet gave me a nice reminder that I eventually need to invest in some good running shoes. It just so happens that Nike has a fancy with running shoes. Coincidental much? Nah...

Here's the cool part: You can design your own shoes. This is the one I came up with...now if $130 will magically fall in my lap. I'd love to buy these, but quite frankly, I felt guilt enough as is with spending $35 on something that'll help me carry my stinky gym clothes.

I suppose I should try to get some sleep considering I need to get up in about...hmmmm....7ish hours. Eric's currently at work with a craptastic shift....once he gets home and possibly gets warm in bed, he has to get right back up and head back to work since he's expected to drive to Germany at 6am. Redonkulous.

This mornings workout:
Elliptical - 1.5 miles, 19:19 minutes and burned  212 calories
Ab machine - 25x 4 , 50lb
Low back extension - 25x 3 , 45lbs
Horizontal leg press - 25x 3 ,55lb
Arm extension - 12x 4, 30lb
Elliptical - 1 mile, 11:51 minutes and burned 132 calories
Sauna - 15 minutes @ 47c

This evenings workout:

Wednesday...I want a refund. NOW.

Today started out pretty......crappy. Figures, right? It IS hump day after all...

I fire up my laptop this morning and bam...there it is. A notice from Telenet (our service provider) informing us that our account has been suspended for some unknown reason. FAAAHHBULOUS. Once I was back from the gym, I gave 'em a call considering there isn't any reason for our account to be suspended. Whenever a bill comes in from them, I turn around and pay it. Simple as that. Well, since they turned our internet off, it also turned our house phone off. Nice. I had to call 'em with my cell phone..which I didn't wanna do considering even though I have a phone plan though Base (another company), I still get dinged for using the airtime during certain time blocks.

Well.....

I was informed that we have an outstanding balance of  €554.64. Yes, you read that right. five hundred, fifty four euro and sixty four cents. If you convert that to dollars, that totals up to $804.53 .Impressive, hunh? I thought so, too. After talking to the customer service representative for 45 minutes, turns out that we got charged for the following things:

- When we canceled our Digital Cable service, no one EVER mentioned that we'd have a service charge for the early termination fee. We didn't know that we were signed into a year contract. In fact, the guy who signed us up for the digital cable said that whenever we're not happy with the service, we can turn it off without any problems. Right...that cost us €75 apparently.

- By canceling our service, that means we have "Telenet property"...which would be the receiver / digital recorder box. Apparently we were sent a letter (which we never received) stating that once we turn the box back, we'll get €225 back. LOVELY! Oh wait..nevermind..if I want the €225 physically back, I'll see it in 3 MONTHS. If I just have it credited to my Telenet account, it'll be 3 business days. Funny how that works, right? Yeah.

- Hey! They can "resend" the paperwork so I can drop off the box at a local Telenet store! It'll be here in.....oh....a month. Yay. Thanks for your speedy service. Much appreciated.

- When I was inquiring about the rest of the heart stopping bill, the representative mentioned two bills that hadn't been paid. I honest to god have NO idea what they were talking about considering I take care of EVERYTHING when it comes to bills and such. Oh, nevermind..it really WASN'T my fault.  He actually admitted that they didn't send them out. NICE! I'm supposed to be psychic when it comes to bills and what I might have to pay. SO, since I apparently missed both of those bills, despite the fact they were never sent to me... we were dinged with late fee's.

LOVELY! FUCKING lovely.

After all was said and done, the representative was nice enough to atleast turn the internet and phone back on. Thankfully, we're getting paid tomorrow, so we'll be able to turn right around and pay off the ugly bill. I'm just disgruntled that we're being stuck with a tab that was literally caused by OTHER people not doing their job and informing us, as a customer, about the fee's and shit. GAH.

On an upside... I had an early day at work. Why, you ask? It's because we were issued a warning about ice.. Ya see.. it started to snow, yet again, but it's obviously colder and the layers of ice were thickening up the roads. Funny thing, the ice wasn't even that bad till I got to my street...once I was ALMOST to the house, I hit a patch of the slippery stuff and my truck started to look like a fat ballerina.

Here's my workout stats for the day. On that note, I'm gonna snuggle up with Eric and a WELL DESERVED hot chocolate!

Phoning This In...

I didn't have a chance to blog yesterday, so here ya go:

My hurricanes and brass holders arrived from Partylite..I guess I was expecting the glass to be a lil..uhh..thicker? I dunno.. they seem a lil thin to me, atleast on the top part. Meh, whatever. They're in the front of the house now, but I still gotta find something to put in it (like where the little green things are in the picture) and find some candles for it. I didn't really feel like paying $20 something bucks for a single candle through Partylite. Actually, I'm a lil' annoyed that I paid $50 a pop (I bought two) for the hurricanes as is...sigh.

I finally found some time to whip out my Auntys birthday card. Here's the finished product:

The outside of the card says "Birthdays are good for you...", then the inside says ,"Scientific studies have proven the more you have, the longer you live." ..thought that was pretty cute! Hopefully she'll like it..the ribbon on the spine was the most involved part, lol.

Week One Breakdown

Whooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!

It's Saturday! :D That means we got to sleep in, which was GREATLY needed! lol. Eric and I ended up crawling into the gym around 9ish and busted out some cardio  for a lil bit. Right when we were leaving after our workout, the snow storm started to kick in, so, good thing we didn't wait till later in the day to do it.

Here's my stats from Monday till today:

Totals from Cardio Machine:
Distance: 19.75 miles!!
Time: 4.75 hours
Calories Burned: 2,715

Totals from Weight Machines:
Abdominal machine - 25 x 26, 40lbs
Hip abductor (in) - 25 x 12, 40lbs
Hip abductor (out) - 25 x 12, 40lbs
Pull over - 25 x 9, 45lbs
Chest press - Machine is down :( Hopefully it's fixed soon!
Lat zug - 25 x 9, 45lbs
Lower Back Extension - 25x 4, 45lbs
Horizontal Leg Press - 25x4, 55lbs
Rear Deltoid - 25x2, 15lbs
Rear Deltoid - 12x4, 30lbs
Arm Extension - 25x 5, 20lbs
Glute - 12x3, 20lb (both legs)

I'm still feeling really good, lots of energy and such. I am kinda sore today, but I think it's because I did some serious stretching yesterday since my legs were starting to feel rather tight. I won't be going to the gym tonight and Sunday considering I need a "rest" day. This coming week, I'm gonna try to average a little more cardio time verses weight lifting considering I'm not aiming to bulk up much...more than anything, I wanna burn the fatty off of me.

Once we were all cleaned up from the gym, we headed on over to the Commissary at Schinnen since I ran out of oranges (I have one every morning before I workout), plus I needed to get some more wheat bread and lunch stuff. Tell ya what, you never realize how expensive it is to eat healthy till you actually count your pennies! Normally, I just bag a ton of various veggies and fruits without really thinking about it..now I'm only getting ones that don't overload me on carbs / sugars. Then, I switched out our regular bacon for turkey bacon...we'll see how long that lasts though cause Eric will probably boycott it. OH! And I found some red bell pepper hummus! That stuff is AWESOME!

I could go on and on about the healthy things I picked up, but I'm actually gonna hop off of here and spend some time with my guys :) I barely get to see them anymore during the week and I miss them. Go figure, right? lol

Friday, January 8, 2010

Oh... my....

From the sounds of it, we're expecting a semi nasty snow storm to hit us later on today. BOO! Given, I love snow and all...but not when it hits on a well deserved weekend. PLUS, we need to go to The Netherlands to get some much needed groceries for this coming week. Yes, I have an Xterra and the snow shouldn't be an issue...it's the ice that I'm worried about. Despite having a large vehicle, it still slides like a elephant ballerina when I hit a small ice patch "just right".

Thankfully, Eric and I get to sleep in tomorrow! GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZ....We need it SO bad, lol. We've been routinely getting up at 5am all week so we can spend some time together in the morning before he sets out for work and I set off for the gym. By the time I get home from work (I go to the gym after work), it's normally around 7ish. On average, we get to MAYBE spend an hour and a half together before we crash out for the night. I swear, I feel like I'm an old fart since I've been going to bed at 8:30 all week. Between going to the gym two times a day, work, then working on the house.. I'm exausted! I really need to find time this weekend to work on my Aunts bday card and get that sent out! Aye aye aye...

I think Eric and I are gonna go to the gym tomorrow, ya know, whenever we wake up. I'll hammer out some cardio time, but no weights since I need to give my poor arms and legs a rest.  I'm pretty much wanting to work on getting my stamina up first, then start upping the resistance on the elliptical levels.

OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I weighed in today!!! Eric says I've lost 3lbs this week! I'M THRILLED! I've been doing great with my water, I've been good with my food (protiens and carbs) and I havent felt like I'm starving myself. AND, I've had a cookie here and there throughout the week ...mind you, they were healthy oatmeal cookies, so it was legit treats for myself. I don't know how much I weigh, but atleast I'm making some progress, phsyically and digitally :)
This morning:
Elliptical Total - (fat burn setting): 1.25 miles, 15: 52 minutes and burned 178 calories

Oh....and....my oh so awesome hats I ordered from Etsy came in. I'm TOTALLY inlove with my massive pom pom beanie!!
Incase you fall madly inlove with mine, you can go to http://www.etsy.com/ and hit up "Yes Jess". She's the creator / seller of this beanie (she apparently makes 'em by hand, EXCELLENT quality). It may seem pricey, but honestly, I'd pay it. She knit the yarn really tight so it doesnt feel cheap..the pom is attatched to the beanie very nicely, and ..it's a cute ass hat! I just got it in the mail this afternoon and I've already received alot of compliments :D

Five Point Two Five

Nothing much has been going on with me aside from the gym, working out and my job. It's become rather....boring? No, wait...repetative is a better description for it. Wake up, gym, come home, shower, clean house, go to work, work, go to the gym, then home. Rinse and repeat.

Today was day four of my new change of physical activity as well as eating..and I gotta say; I feel a hell of alot better already. My stamina on the elliptical is greatly improving, not to mention..it's becoming rather addictive. Yeah, I said "addictive". I don't feel like a train wreck, I have alot more energy..and..Im not as grumpy. I know I don't seem "grumpy", but there's times where I can go from happy to bitch pretty fast. Either the change in diet and exercise is helping that, or I'm just getting more tolerable of things, lol. I've been starting my mornings off with a large orange in addition to a multivitamin..once I'm back from the gym, I have a bowl of oatmeal (I make it with 1/2 of milk), I'll snack on a banana or pomegranite later in the day, for lunch I have a Healthy Choice Steamer (18g protein and 320 calories), another helping of fruits / veggies..then once I'm home, I'll either have 2 tomato sandwiches (wheat bread, 1 tomato, 2 tablespoons of mayo, a dash of pepper and salt) or a bowl of soup. Doesn't sound like much, but it's actually pretty filling and I don't feel like I'm starving during the day. Not to mention, I'm drinking about ten glasses of water throughout the day as well! After searching for some time through all of our boxes that're still unpacked upstairs (hahahaa), I finally found my "Biggest Loser Family Cookbook". Thank GOD there's actually some recipes in there that Eric and John would be willing to try, lol. They're calorie friendly, but look pretty darn good.. so I'll be testing those out this coming week since we'll be hitting up the grocery store this weekend.

Tomorrow morning,  I'm weighing in. I won't be looking at the scale, but Fridays from now on are my "official" weigh in days. Eric will write down my new total (if there is one) and just either give me "Yes" or "No" answer when it comes to making some progress. Knowing how my husband works, I'm assuming he's gonna say "Yes" either way considering he doesn't want to discourage me. He's such a good husband :) Hopefully he'll stay honest with me about it though! It's been tempting to turn the scale on and check out my current weight, but I don't wanna cheat myself out of it and go stir crazy..

This mornings workout:
Elliptical - 1.5 miles, 19:25 minutes and burned 208 calories
Ab Machine - 25x 6 , 40lb
Low Back Extension - 25x 4 , 45lbs

Awesome-ness!

I'm so excited cause my Starbucks syrups showed up! Not only did those bad boys arrive, but some hats that I ordered arrived as well :) They're not just ANY hats, mind you...

Yes. It's a Mario & Luigi hat. No. You can't have them.

Why do I have 'em, you ask? Well, Josie is having a birthday party later this month and she wants a "hat" themed event. It can be whatever kinda hat you want, as long as it isnt a regular baseball hat...I think she's wanting more of a "Mad Hatter" style theme. I was really debating on what to either make or buy for Eric and myself, but it dawned on me... Mario and Luigi would be perfect! I'll be Mario & Eric will be Luigi :)  I'm SO glad they arrived on time since her party isn't later till the end of the month, but things seem to take forever and a day to get here. Now, all I gotta do is find some lil mustaches for us to wear and we'll look like pimps.

In other news...

I'm sore as hell..and I know I shouldn't be shocked. Yea, I worked out. I'm totally feeling it....uggghhh.. Atleast I'm drinking enough water so the lactic acid in my muscles arent making me absolutely miserable. I'm really not a big water person. I mean, sure, I drink it from time to time, but I never dragged around a good sized water bottle with me all day. Now, I carry around a nice pink bottle that holds 1.8 liters...what's that.. almost 8 cups of water? I gotta down one of these bad boys a day. It doesn't sound like much, but it really is...lol.

Ow Ow Ow Ow Ow

Everything huuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrttttttttttttttttttttts................................................... even my pinky toe.

Bye Bye Squishy McSquish Squish

Today.. I officially started my resolution. Ya know, the one that involves me becoming more "aerodynamic". Eric used that term for me a while back.."aerodynamic" when I lost alot of weight before, hahahaa. It's not like he's calling me a fatass or anything (he's NEVER said anything negative about my body!); it's more along the lines of: my hips were smaller as well as my waist. My butt defintely wasnt as "grand" and my arms didn't have self installed "floaties". I was definetely more "aerodynamic" this time last year, lmao.

I have a strategic plan..and hopefully it'll work out in my favor (lol).. I weighed in this morning, but didn't look at the scale. Here's what I'm doing: Eric looks at the scale, writes down my current weight and keeps the amount from me. I've realized that everytime I look at my weight on the scale, I get REALLY depressed and it screws me up (mentally) when it comes to working out. It's almost borderline destructive. I weighed in today, then I'll weigh in again on Friday...then every Friday after that is my official weigh in date. I did it today since I need an actual "starting" number, ya know? Once a month, I'll see what my weight is..so Feb 5th will be when I can see my numbers *eek*. Every 4th of the month, I'll take updated pictures so I can track my physical appearance and changes (hopefully they'll become more noticeable as time ticks by) and I'll put together a "collage" of 6 months worth of pictures. Not bad, right?

I logged back into my Sparkpeople.com account, updated my Spark profile.. that alone was a little challenging considering I havent' used it in some time (it still had me listed at Vandenberg, oops!).  I highly reccommend that site for anyone who wants free nutritional guidance, as well as motivation / support when it comes to staying on track and meeting your goals ( in terms of weight loss or toning up).

Here's my exercise routine I did this morning:

Elliptical - 1mile, 12:45 min, burned 137cal
Abdominal machine - 25 x 5 , 40lb
Hip abductor (in) - 25x4, 40 lbs
Hip abductor (out) - 25x4, 40lbs
Pull over - 25x3, 45 lbs
Chest press - machine is down
Lat zug - 25x3, 21kg
Elliptical - .75 miles, 9:14 min. , burned 100 cal

By the time I was off of work, I was pretty tired (it was a rather stressful day) so I managed to do a lil bit more cardio and headed on home.  My time on the treadmill was 24:52 for 1.25 miles and I ended up burning 125 calories...honestly, not bad! The gym was pretty packed tonight, so, I'm glad I atleast have the morning to the gym *mostly* to myself :)

On that note, I'm off to bed. I'm EXAUSTED!

Passport, You're gonna get a used and abused...

I wanna travel. BAD. Like...really bad. Only thing is, I don't have gobs and gobs of money at my disposal. I mean, I have an inheritence, but I rather not blow it when I could invest it in a lovely home once Eric gets out of the Air Force in...hmmmm..7ish years. Sounds like a long time, but it'll probably fly by pretty fast. Besides, we'll probably buy a house before he gets out since the housing market has some amazing deals right now...ya know...aside from people losing their homes due to forclosures and such. But, yeah..good housing deals.

Anyway, one of the main reasons why I got my job was so I could have "play money" so I could travel. Whee! Only thing is, I don't wanna be taking time off of work all the time to go travel..hahaha...it's like a double edge sword in a way. I'm sure I'll do quite a few weekend trips and such just to be able to venture out and see different places, but I'm not really expecting any long sort of vacations....except for Switzerland in November. We'll be there for five days or something, so that's good for me!

Here's a list of all the places I wanna go to:

Santorini, Greece: I've wanted to go to this place ever since I can remember! I actually wanted to go here for our honeymoon, but that didn't happen due to lifes events...my mom having cancer, taking care of her, working my tail off then us getting orders for Belgium. Eventually, I WILL get to this place! I WILL!

Vatican City: Anyone who knows me, knows that I absolutely LOVE artwork. LOVE LOVE LOVE it! I'm completely infatuated with Renaissance pieces. Da Vinci is my favorite artist of all time, but I can go see The Mona Lisa in France...as for Vatican City,  I can see Michelangelo's masterpiece in the Sistine Chapel. I'd purposely get myself lost in there so I could stare at the paintings for days and days, although I'm sure the Vatican Police wouldn't appreciate that.

Who wouldn't wanna see this?!?

Zermatt, Switzerland: This is actually already in the works for us to go as a family for Thanksgiving later this year :) Thanks to Barb telling me about it as well as posting amazing pictures of the place.. Eric and I agree'd it'd be a great family vacation for John, him and myself. We almost NEVER get to take vacations, so the fact that we both want to go here for some down time..makes me REALLY excited!

Hallstratt, Austria : Who wouldnt wanna go there? It just looks like a nice, quite place to relax :)

Rome: Need I say more? I mean, really?

There's tons of other places I wanna go to, but this is for starters :) Trust me, I'll plug more and more pics and stuff in of the places I wanna go as time ticks on.
