As I was going through some of my picture files and transferring them to my passport drive, I realized there's pics I forgot to post about. So, I'm sorry in advance if this blog post is all over the place, but hey, that's how my life is, LOL.
In case you didn't know, my family loves dachshunds. Whenever we all get together, it's like a mini stampede of 'em since I have three, my Dad has two and my Grandma has one. So, imagine when we're all hanging out for a family event, you have six little furry ankle biters running around and wreaking havoc in the pursuit of finding treats or begging for food. It's awesome, and honestly, I wouldn't have it any other way. We're definitely an animal kinda family.
Speaking of dachshunds... one of my Dads dachshunds,Waldie, is a total butterball. Truth be told, I think she was my replacement once I moved out on my own. I honestly think that. Dad spoils her rotten by giving her lots of treats and goodies, which have helped with emphasizing her girlish figure. In fact, it's so enhanced that she oozes out of whatever doggy bed she happens to shoe horn herself into:
By the way, this is Pipers bed...
Might I add, this wasn't the first time Waldie has attempted to steal a much smaller dogs bed. In fact, she stole Coles bed (when he was a puppy). The term "one size fits all" makes me giggle when I see this picture:
Another lovely quirk that Waldie has is that she sleeps with her eyes open. Yeah. Kinda creepy when you're not really expecting it! Nevermind the fact that she snores like a full grown man..but when she's got the snore going on in addition to her eyes being wide open..freaks me out just a tad.
Ok...what else..what else.... I feel like I'm grasping at straws here, lol
Despite the fact that I live in the chocolate capital of the world, I still love See's Candies. Yes, I'm serious. Don't get me wrong, I love the stuff I get from Leonidas in my little town..but they don't carry Butterchews (Eric's absolute favorite) nor do they carry the Halloween Orange & Chocolate Creams (my absolute favorite!!). Given, the creams are seasonal, but they're fabulous and had a small part in me making my trip home...ya know, aside from seeing my family, friends...pumpkin spice frappachinos..etc etc etc.. Anyway, their Orange and Chocolate Wafers are INSANELY delicious!!! Oh my gawd! I feel like I need to buy ten pounds of the stuff and ship it back to Belgium! So, I got a little bundle of goodies (for now) and I'll be assaulting See's again before I leave so I can ship back an even larger stock of deliciousness to Belgie.
There's a sign my Dad has in his garage and it totally sums up our lives. Murphy always messes me him as well as myself regardless how much we prep stuff for an upcoming event or when we're planning on just having a mellow day. It never fails, Murphy ALWAYS strikes!
A recent example of Murphy messing with me was on Thursday when I was literally on my way out to meet up with a friend of mine. The weather was less than "Californian" since it was raining cats and dogs and rather chilly, so, I wanted to wear my new coat. When I was up in Washington, I stopped off at Torrid and picked up a really cute Grey Black Plaid Toggle Coat ( got a killer deal on it!) which is really comfortable (the collar is a knitted sweater material) and really warm.
Of course when I got back to California, it was in the 80's so I obviously wasn't going to be wearing it, so, I kept it in the bag it came in. When I went to go put it on, come to find out, the security tag (the one with ink in 'em) was STILL on it! AGH! It was obviously a security tag and I couldn't wear the coat without looking super ghetto, and I really didn't want to drive over to the scary mall on the other side of town to get the tag off cause I'm legitimately worried about getting shot. I figured I'd deal with it later, so I made my way to my car...inserted the key and pressed the start up button and....nothing. NOTHING. The car wouldn't start..at all.
THIS kinda car should not be having any kind of trouble...what so ever.
After messing with it for a while, I finally threw my hands up in the air and accepted the fact that Murphy had screwed me out of my plans. I called my friend to let her know we needed to rain check out plans and kept apologizing because we were looking forward to hanging out and getting out of our houses. Le Sigh. The car is officially up and running now, so hopefully my friend and I will be able to link up this coming week. * fingers crossed*
So yea, that's pretty much a basic mish mash of things that are going on :) Hopefully I'll have more pics from around my home town to post..well..that is if the weather decides to cooperate!
