Let's see....let's see... well, lemme start with the actual definition of "success":
Well, I guess I would see success as being something where you feel you've accomplished whatever it is you were doing and the outcome came out in a positive way. I mean, I hear descriptions of people, like, "Dr. BlahBlahBlah is a successful neuro-surgeon" or "Mrs. WhatsHisName was a successful business woman". If they sucked at their job, it'd be rather bad news for them, right? They wouldn't have people speaking positively about them if they WEREN'T successful. Know what I mean? :)
