Needy Weenie Gets A Coat

Yes, I'm one of those dog owners. I dress my dog up. 

Izzy is my chocolate and tan dachshund who is a pint sized diva and loves dressing up. I'm not lying..this dog loves to wear little shirts, sweaters and outfits for any reason. Cole and Macie, not so much. In fact, when I put an outfit on Cole, he'd literally flop over and play dead till I took it off of him. I think Izzy likes it so much since she's petite and doesn't have as much..uhhh..padding...as Macie and Cole.

When we lived in California, she'd get extremely excited whenever we went to PetSmart because she knew she's score some new clothes and goodies. Well, since living in Belgium...the clothes shopping has ceased. Ya see, Belgium is expensive as is, and the pet stores I've been to charge a RIDICULOUS amount for anything that you'd buy for a pet. I'll put it this way... a small doggy bed which would cost $20 in the states, is almost $100 here. No thanks!

Since the weather here is very unreliable, I've learned that it tends to rain in the afternoon when I normally want to walk the dogs. The only one who is actually willing to do that is Izzy, even though I know she doesn't like the rain on her back (she flinches when the rain drops hit her). So, I went cruising through sites to see if I could find some sort of weenie dog rain coat or something for her..and that's when I found Noodle & Friends.  After looking through their site, I figured I'd go ahead and snag a raincoat for her since a portion of what you buy is donated to Coast to Coast Dachshund Rescue. I ended up waiting about two weeks to order it since I kept forgetting to get her measurements (I have ASS...Acute Shiny Syndrome) so I could order the right size, but I'm glad my ASS kept me from being productive since the Noodle & Friends Facebook posted a code for 10% off! The coat showed up today and it's super cute! It's actually a "caution" highlighter green color, which is perfect for here since people fly down my street like it's a race track, so I definitely want Izzy to be seen. When I called her over, she started wiggling all over the place cause she knew it was for her! Don't laugh! It's true! 

The inside of the coat has fleece for those cold days, and the exterior is, well, an obvious raincoat material. The sides are velcro'd so you can adjust the coat, and even the neck is adjustable! AND, there's a finished hole on the back so if you use a halter to walk your fur ball (like I do), then you can have the halter on them with the coat over it. It even has two USABLE pockets that you can stick some doggy treats in or plastic baggies for doo doo patrol.

It was like watching Eric and John fight over the last cookie or something. Izzy proceeded to pretty much tell Macie "Piss off!":

Then, she was finally able to relax & strike a pose for me to show off her new digs.

Is it sad that I want it to rain now?? Of course I'm lovin' the gorgeous sunshine we've been receiving lately, but still, I wanna test drive this new coat!!
